March & April Crafty Review

Okay due to all the craziness March wasn't very crafty.  But April definitely made up for it!

Finished projects included:
Birthday Tie for Jesse
Baby Blanket for Mary-Ann & Jordan - Pink, Grey and Green on the front and soft minky on the back.

Matching Bib for Mary-Ann & Jordan's new little girl - who is yet to make her appearance!
Pinafore for Edith's first Birthday - Front view
Pinafore for Edie - Back View.  It's still miles to big for her, but she'll grow into it.
This receiving blanket, that still hasn't been gifted yet.
And this cute clutch that I made to take to Sarah & Gary's buck and doe.  I totally screwed up the inside but outside looks good.

I also worked on my wild things quilt a bit, and have coming up with new projects, re-determining projects for weddings and babies that still a few months away.  Between searching for the new house, taping for the show, and work, I need to get my sewing butt into gear over the next few months if I want to be anywhere close to finished.  Wish me luck.

Whoa.

Sometimes life just gets away from you.

And no matter how hard you try to keep up, you feel like you just keep hitting the ground.  Then end of March and most of April were like that for me.  I'm going to choose to just put it behind me and move on.  I'm not even going to tell you my excuses reasoning's on why the month was like that.  Let's just chalk it up to a few bad decisions (on my part) and the rest of it was just life.

But seriously there were a few very exciting things that were going on at the same time. We are DEFINITELY buying a house and we're going to be on TV.  My dad has been saying for a while, we should apply to HGTV's Property Virgins.  How it would be "such a great experience for new home buyers" and "that we are sure to get a lot of knowledge from it" and the fact that we'd get to be on TV.  So the last weekend in March I sent off a quick email giving all the info they required, and honestly never thinking they'd email/ call.

The next morning (a Sunday!) we get a call.  I think we were both incredibly shocked.  Okay its one thing to write an email and say ya we want to be on your show.  It's a whole other thing when they write you back and say we want you to be on our show.  There was a few things we had to do before they could officially approve us - but we made it through all the stages, and we can officially call our selves Property Virgins!

So on top of the show we actually get to buy a house - that is the truly exciting part.  We've been out the last two weekends and it's weird.  I mean i've had to search for a new apartment almost every year for the last 10 years, but house hunting that's different.

This is going to be ours we can do whatever we want to it/ with it. And I can't wait.  We have already been through the offer/bidding war once.
This is us waiting out in our car, on what was a very humid Sunday night. (this was one week ago, yesterday it snowed. oh spring, please stop playing with my emotions.) We lost out on it because of conditions - but we're okay with that.  There are a ton of houses out there.

Okay I think that's enough for one post right now.  I'll be back with my March and April crafty round ups.

Mind the Appearance...

Okay...I'm testing out some new options for the look of my blog.  The new blogger customizable template is really cool, there is a lot you can play around with.  And this was only a half an hour or so that I was tinkering with it last night.  I think there might be a few more changes over the coming week until I find something that is going to fit well.

Plus I'm hoping to do a bit more blogging and updating as the weeks go by.  Lots of exciting things happening over here in my world,  I just need a few minutes to get then on the page!

Stay tuned!

I did a lot of sewing this week.  This is what I look like while i'm in the "zone" or at least what I assume I look like this since this photo was highly staged for week 17.

Okay, so I actually missed week 16, but this picture could have very well been taken this week.  I've been working on this project at work for the last few weeks.  And all the work was finally posted on the 12th.  Avatar's world "Pandora" was brought to life at Union Station - and I have to admit it turned out amazing.

Here I am hugging the giant tree that was installed right inside the station.

Goofing around on my computer on Saturday morning, while Paul was still in bed.  I got so much done that morning!

Easter weekend, we  had my parents and sister and brother in law down for Sunday brunch/ dinner.  I didn't cook a whole turkey, but like I said to Paul a turkey roll is part of a turkey - so it definitely counts as my first turkey!

Okay, so I know I haven't kept up with my end of the deal of posting once a week.  But I'm not going to dwell lets just move ahead.

As I told my sister last week, chin up, keep moving.  So i'll catch up with my 52 week photos - which surprisingly minus week 16 (which I made up for) I manage to snap at least one pic of me a week.

Here is week 13 - lounging around at home with pauly watching re-runs/ on demand of Property Virgins. :)

Lack of posting

and there is no excuse for it.

Just tired.  Busy and tired.

But there was some good news this week.  We were officially approved for a mortgage!  And a rather large one at that.  We still can't start looking until May, but that's only less then two months from now.  I can't wait.  I'm so excited to have something we can call our own, and to be out of this city.  I think it will be the start of many good things!

Two pics this week, cause I can't decide.  Me in my st. paddy's day, and last night with my 3D glasses outside Alice in Wonderland.

Okay, eventually I was going to miss a week. Last week was the week. But I was so sick that i'll blame it on that.  Although i'm sicker now then I was then. But regardless here is a half decent week 10 picture. (taken during week 11)

We are heading to Michigan with Sam & Michelle this weekend to do lots of Shopping and visit with Uncle Barry, so there will definitely be a new week 11 picture.

February Crafty Review

Okay, a little less crafty this month, only two finished projects - although lots started/ worked on this month.

It was a short month and we were gone 3 out of the 4 weeks (for at least one of the two days) which after running around and cleaning, and resting, didn't leave much time for being crafty.  However the Olympics were on and we spent almost the entire time watching - and when paul didn't want to watch, I was watching in the sewing room, while cutting out fabric for projects.

I finished cutting all the blocks for my Wild Things quilt, yet I have not sewed one block together, maybe this weekend..lol

I also figured out all sorts of baby and wedding projects organized my stash, bought some more fabric (some totally necessary, some not).

I did however make this little football for Keon as a sorta birthday/ superbowl gift.  I think he is a bit young to get the hang of it yet, but seemed to enjoy it.

I also finished that secret project I was working on, but can't show yet, cause you just never know who reads these things.

Hopefully March will be slightly more productive.  However its been a ruff start, I've been coughing almost non-stop since Saturday - the bronchitis seems to be back. Oh Joy.

I have spent the last 2 hours coughing non-stop.  Suddenly remembering I need a photo. Here is what it looks like when you feel like your chest might collapse. It's not pretty, nor does it feel that good.
