My least favourite part of sewing is the cutting out of patterns and fabric.  You have to be so spot on, cause if you make a mistake here, there is no fixing it.

The starting of my School House Tunic - hopefully to be finished in time for the Anniversary Party this Saturday.

SOLD! (to us!)

(Okay, so I goofed again, and this was actually taken on the holiday Monday, which was actually week 22, but since it was a long weekend and it still felt like the same week, I'm going to count it as week 21)

Currently...

... wishing it wasn't sunday evening at 8pm.
... so excited that in 22 days we get our house!
... thinking it was a great weekend in the sun up north with good friends and family.
... excited to move up to the 5th floor at work this week, to my own office!
... very nervous that in 22 days we get our house :S
... thinking that sitting in the sun all day without sun screen might not have been the smartest idea - however not nearly as red as I thought i'd be.
... hoping this week goes better then last week and that things at work start to become "normal" again.
... just finished cutting out the pattern pieces (on paper) for my school house tunic
... really hoping that the size I cut out for the tunic is the right one :S
... thinking of things we NEED to get for the new house, and things we just WANT for the new house.
... thinking how busy we are this summer.  (4 weddings, 1 anniversary party, 1 birthday party, 1 new house move, several "housewarming parties")
... thinking that we didn't have dinner tonight, but still full from the BBQ this afternoon!

Our House, the inside.

Okay, now that everything is truly official I can post some pictures of what in exactly one month today will be very much our new home!!!

Instead of posting all the pictures individually I've made a mosiac from here.  This first one is a view of our first floor.

1. Entry Way, 2. Dining Room, 3. Kitchen, 4. Kitchen other angle,
5. Living Room, 6. View of Dining Room from Living Room, 7. Backyard, 8. Other side of backyard

The Second Floor

1. Upstairs Main Bath, 2. Other side of main bath, 3. Hallway, 4. Spare Bedroom, 5. Master Bedroom
6. Master Walkin closet, 7. Master bath, 8. Spare Room/ Future Sewing Room, 9. Hallway looking downstairs, 10. Powder Room on Main floor heading to basement.

There is also a Second Floor Laundry room that I forgot to take a picture of, but very much looking forward to it! Its hidden around the corner from what will be my sewing room.

Basement

1. Top of Stairs leading to the basement aka broom storage, 2. Storage Space under the steps
3. Unfinished basement space/ furnace/ wash tub, 4. Other half of basement to become Paul's man cave in the future.

So that's it. :)  What do you think?  Its only 3 years old and everything is in very good condition.  The only improvements we plan on making right away is some paint in the upstairs master bedroom and the room that is going to be my sewing room.

We've chosen a green/grey theme for our bedroom but i'm still stumped on my sewing space.  I think I want it to be fairly neutral so that I can really see my fabric for what it is, but then again I want it to be a fun space.  Any thoughts ?!?

First week of filming for Property Virgins - perfect photo-op!

March & April Crafty Review

Okay due to all the craziness March wasn't very crafty.  But April definitely made up for it!

Finished projects included:
Birthday Tie for Jesse
Baby Blanket for Mary-Ann & Jordan - Pink, Grey and Green on the front and soft minky on the back.

Matching Bib for Mary-Ann & Jordan's new little girl - who is yet to make her appearance!
Pinafore for Edith's first Birthday - Front view
Pinafore for Edie - Back View.  It's still miles to big for her, but she'll grow into it.
This receiving blanket, that still hasn't been gifted yet.
And this cute clutch that I made to take to Sarah & Gary's buck and doe.  I totally screwed up the inside but outside looks good.

I also worked on my wild things quilt a bit, and have coming up with new projects, re-determining projects for weddings and babies that still a few months away.  Between searching for the new house, taping for the show, and work, I need to get my sewing butt into gear over the next few months if I want to be anywhere close to finished.  Wish me luck.

Whoa.

Sometimes life just gets away from you.

And no matter how hard you try to keep up, you feel like you just keep hitting the ground.  Then end of March and most of April were like that for me.  I'm going to choose to just put it behind me and move on.  I'm not even going to tell you my excuses reasoning's on why the month was like that.  Let's just chalk it up to a few bad decisions (on my part) and the rest of it was just life.

But seriously there were a few very exciting things that were going on at the same time. We are DEFINITELY buying a house and we're going to be on TV.  My dad has been saying for a while, we should apply to HGTV's Property Virgins.  How it would be "such a great experience for new home buyers" and "that we are sure to get a lot of knowledge from it" and the fact that we'd get to be on TV.  So the last weekend in March I sent off a quick email giving all the info they required, and honestly never thinking they'd email/ call.

The next morning (a Sunday!) we get a call.  I think we were both incredibly shocked.  Okay its one thing to write an email and say ya we want to be on your show.  It's a whole other thing when they write you back and say we want you to be on our show.  There was a few things we had to do before they could officially approve us - but we made it through all the stages, and we can officially call our selves Property Virgins!

So on top of the show we actually get to buy a house - that is the truly exciting part.  We've been out the last two weekends and it's weird.  I mean i've had to search for a new apartment almost every year for the last 10 years, but house hunting that's different.

This is going to be ours we can do whatever we want to it/ with it. And I can't wait.  We have already been through the offer/bidding war once.
This is us waiting out in our car, on what was a very humid Sunday night. (this was one week ago, yesterday it snowed. oh spring, please stop playing with my emotions.) We lost out on it because of conditions - but we're okay with that.  There are a ton of houses out there.

Okay I think that's enough for one post right now.  I'll be back with my March and April crafty round ups.
